TINSUKIA: India’s longest waterway connect, fit for withstanding the heaviness of a 60-ton fight tank, will be initiated in Assam near the outskirt with China on May 26 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With the initiation of the 9.15-km-long Dhola-Sadiya connect over the Brahmaputra waterway, the head administrator will kick begin the festivals of the NDA government’s three years in office from this eastern-most piece of Assam.

It is 3.55 km longer than the Bandra-Worli ocean interface in Mumbai, making it the longest scaffold in India. 

“The executive will commit the deliberately vital scaffold to the country on May 26. It will support the street availability in the Northeast as the scaffold will be utilized by individuals of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh other than guard powers broadly,” Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal told PTI.

The scaffold is found 540-km far from Assam capital Dispur and 300 km far from Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar. The aeronautical separation to the Chinese fringe is under 100 km. 

After Kaliabhomora connects close Tezpur, there is no extension over the Brahmaputra for the following 375 km upstream till Dhola, where the new scaffold is developed. Presently, all the vehicle between the two banks of the stream is being brought out through the water as it were

The extension, when opened for general society, will chop down the movement time among Assam and Arunachal Pradesh by as much as four hours. 

As there is no nonmilitary personnel airplane terminal in Arunachal Pradesh, this extension will help individuals of the state to come to the closest railhead in Tinsukia and the air terminal in Dibrugarh   effectively.

Sonowal said the deferred works of the scaffold was facilitated after Modi accepted the charge in 2014. The extension was initially planned to open in 2015

The BJP government in Assam will finish one year in office on May 24. 

The extension is one of the key activities of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in the Northeast and is worked in broad daylight private association with a development organization
